THE GARY BAUER LIBRARY:

Children at Risk: The Battle for the Hearts and Minds of Our Kids by Dr. James Dobson & Gary L. Bauer (Expanded & Updated 1994 Edition). This hard-hitting ideological book seeks to show how cultural forces -- including liberal politicians, activists and teachers -- are endangering today's children. Bauer and his longtime patron Dobson explain what they believe Americans can do to successfully protect their families, faith, and traditional values. Follow the link to read more about the book. List: $12.99. Your Price: $10.39 (You Save 20%). (Paperback.)

Reagan: The Man and His Presidency by Debra & Gerald Strober (1998). This thick book is a largely favorable oral history of the Reagan Presidency, as told by 108 political leaders, insiders and friends. Everyone from George Bush to King Hussein to Al Haig to Ed Meese -- and, yes, even Gary Bauer -- has their say. For good or bad, the Strobers largely report the perceptions at face value -- leaving the readers to form their own views of the events described. The Washington Post described this book as "a valuable lens on the Reagan White House" and "a useful resource and a crucial starting point for scholars and journalists writing about the man and his times." A few former top Reagan aides take some brief shots at Bauer in the latter part of the book, deriding Bauer as so stridently conservative that he was largely isolated and ignored by President Reagan during the year or so that Bauer worked in the White House. List: $35.00. Your Price: $24.50 (You Save 30%)!
